Sharing the Craft of Fermentation

Established in 1992 and Growing Ever Since

The Libation Association of Northern Maryland (Libations) Homebrew Club was founded in 1992 to bring together passionate fermenters in the Bel Air and Harford County community. Over the last three decades, we've fostered a supportive, educational, and highly social group of amateur brewers and winemakers.

Whether you are a seasoned all-grain brewer, a beginner who just purchased their first extract kit, or someone interested in wine, cider, and mead-making, you'll find a welcoming home in our club.

Prospective members are always invited to attend our meetings as a guest. Come meet the crew, share some brews, and see what we're all about!

Bring & Share Homebrew

We bring along our latest batches to drink and share. It's a unique chance to try different styles without having to brew them all yourself.

Constructive Feedback

Bring your latest beer, wine, or mead to get constructive tasting notes and diagnostic feedback to perfect your next brew day.

The Club Charter

Libations is built upon four fundamental principles that guide our meetings, activities, and community outreach.

Styles & Collaborations

Bi-Monthly Style Focus

Style Showcases

Every couple of months, our club focuses on a particular style of beer, cider, or mead. Members get educated on:

  • Historical origin and evolution of the style
  • Commercial examples and tasting standards
  • Sampling members' homebrewed attempts to compare
Technical Sessions

Advanced Brewing Collaborations

A few times a year, Libations members assemble for technical brewing collaborations. These offer hands-on practice on topics like:

  • High-gravity brewing & yeast propagation
  • Water chemistry adjustments & mash pH control
  • Barrel aging, souring processes, and closed transfers
Several of our active members have graduated to open successful local breweries!
